High Line Canal Segment 8
If you’re not interested in hiking the entire High Line, buy The Best Urban Hikes: Denver, which has several hikes, out n backs, and loops that incorporate pieces of the High Line. See details about this segment, below.
Some say this is the prettiest segment of the High Line. Others disagree. None the less, you’ll walk the longest segment of 8 miles, passing the Marjorie Perry Nature Preserve, the Cat Anderson property, Kent Denver School, Three Pond Park, and three different gulches. The north end of this segment can be difficult to follow, so be sure to exit the trail at mile marker 36, crossing the bridge into the neighborhood. Continue past the church, go left on Colorado, cross Hampden, and then continue along the street and reenter the trail at Eisenhower Park. In the future, an underpass will take you from mile marker 36 to near Eisenhower.
