High Line Canal Segment 13

If you’re not interested in hiking the entire High Line, buy The Best Urban Hikes: Denver, which has several hikes, out n backs, and loops that incorporate pieces of the High Line. See details about this segment, below.

This segment is the first of the last two remaining that you will absolutely want a guide. With little to no signage and a trail that plays hide and go seek, a guide is a must. You’ll head north from the Triple Creek Trailhead, cross Colfax, walk a dirt trail behind a neighborhood, cross Tower, go behind the King Soopers offices, and across train tracks. Here’s your chance to walk in the Canal. You’ll even pass the High Line Canal dock and marina before crossing I70 where the Trail veers from the Canal. You’ll be able to see mile marker 63 off in the distance. The segment ends just past the last seen mile marker, 66.

The trailend parking is in a residential neighborhood. Park along the street and not in the visitor parking. Be kind and quiet as you make your way to your car.

What pack do I like to wear while going the distance on the High Line Canal Trail? This one.
