High Line Canal Segment 10

If you’re not interested in hiking the entire High Line, buy The Best Urban Hikes: Denver, which has several hikes, out n backs, and loops that incorporate pieces of the High Line. See details about this segment, below.

After weaving through the Cherry Creek Trail and High Line Trail intersection, you’ll see how the High Line Canal ducks under the Cherry Creek, and then you’ll meander north along the Cherry Creek Golf Course. This is one of the straightest sections of the High Line! Eventually you’ll enter the Fairmont Cemetery (be sure to pay respects at Marjorie Perry’s gravestone!), and then pass between the Windsor Gardens retirement village on the left and Windsor Lake on the right (elevated.) You’ll cross over Havana into Aurora and end the segment at the north end of  Expo Park. Be sure to see the historic High Line Canal sign on the west side of the trail right before Alameda.

What shoes do I wear on the High Line Canal Trail? These in the summer. These in the winter.

Start: Cherry Creek

End: Expo Park

Length: 6+ miles

Mile Markers: 44-50
